Jalan panjang nan terjal harus dosen tempuh, yang berkomitmen kuat untuk meraih capaian derajat profesor, mengingat banyak tantangan, persyaratan  dan prosedur rumit yang  harus mereka penuhi.

UndanProfesor Puncak Karir Doseng-Undang Nomor 14 Tahun 2005 tentang Guru dan Dosen Pasal 1 Butir 3, menyebutkan bahwa guru besar atau profesor adalah jabatan fungsional tertinggi bagi dosen yang masih mengajar di lingkungan satuan pendidikan tinggi.

FISIP Universitas Tanjungpura di tahun ini dalam tempo yang berdekatan telah menambah dua profesor yakni Prof.Dr.H.Martoyo, MA dan Prof.Dr.Hj.Sri Haryaningsih, M.Si.

Kedua guru besar ini sebelumnya adalah dosen senior di jurusan ilmu administrasi dan pakar bidang ilmu administrasi publik pada program D3, S1 dan pasca sarjana.

 

Prestasi membanggakan  ini bakal mendorong beberapa dosen dengan jabatan lektor/lektor kepala untuk mengejar puncak jabatan fungsional tertinggi sebagai guru besar khususnya di FISIP Universitas Tanjungpura.
